MBT is a major acidic vulcanizing agent with a moderate vulcanization rate and a long vulcanization plateau. It is a quasi high speed, multifunctional accelerator that endows vulcanized rubber with good physical and mechanical properties. MBT is used as an anti coking agent in sulfur free vulcanized rubber materials; Used as a vulcanization retarder in CR rubber compound. Alkaline promoters such as aldehyde amine and guanidine, as well as thiuram and dithiocarbamate promoters, have activation effects on MBT. It has a low vulcanization temperature, is easily dispersed in rubber, and does not contaminate.
Mainly used in IR, NR, SBR, NBR systems to manufacture tires, tapes, rubber shoes, and other industrial rubber products, but cannot be used as food materials.
