Flow characteristics of rubber compound

Blended rubber is an uncrosslinked rubber material in which a compounding agent is mixed into block, granular, or powdered raw rubber, and has significant flowability characteristics. Its liquidity is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Material and rheological properties

The material of the mixed rubber is excellent, with superior rheological properties, which can maintain good fluidity during processing and facilitate subsequent extrusion, rolling and other process operations.

Plasticity and processing performance

Rubber compound has a certain degree of plasticity, and its flowability can be controlled by adjusting the roller spacing and mixing time to meet different processing needs. For example, in the mixing process of the open mill, by controlling the roller spacing and rolling time, the rubber material can be evenly coated on the roller, forming a smooth and seamless roll coating rubber.

Viscoelasticity and resilience

Rubber compound has strong viscoelasticity and good resilience, which can maintain stable flowability during processing while ensuring the physical and mechanical properties of the product.

Temperature sensitivity

The flowability of mixed rubber is sensitive to temperature. During the mixing process in the internal mixer, high temperature and high pressure environment can significantly improve its flowability, but attention should be paid to avoiding excessive temperature that may cause coking or over mixing.

Dispersibility of compounding agents

The flowability of rubber compound is closely related to the dispersibility of its compounding agent. Uniformly dispersed additives can further enhance the flowability of the rubber material, avoid agglomeration, and ensure smooth processing.
